Our Story

Ruggi's story began with a question:

If the people living inside them are all unique, why are homes increasingly looking alike?

In fact, we've known rugs for a long time. Our roots extend to Sark Hali, which has been involved in hand-woven rug making since the 1960s. In 2018, Woolknot brought this experience to the professional world with its contemporary designs and premium rugs.

Ruggi is a more colorful, freer, and more integrated into life version of this heritage.

We draw inspiration from the deep-rooted motifs of Anatolia, reinterpreting them with today's colors and lifestyles. We don't hang the past on the wall; we lay it right in the middle of life, where coffees are sipped, games are played, nights stretch long, and sometimes things get a little messy.

Because for us, a beautiful home isn't one where everything perfectly matches. It's a home that carries something of the person who lives in it.

That's why Ruggi doesn't tell you how to set up your home. It creates space for you to choose colors, patterns, and stories that resemble you.

There's no single form of good taste.

Yours, Ruggi.

Why Ruggi?

I grew up around rugs. At a very young age, I saw how a color, pattern, or texture could transform a space. Over the years, I learned how to make a good rug, but I also understood that a home being merely beautiful wasn't enough.

Because a home isn't a flawless showroom to be meticulously preserved; it's where life truly happens.

This was the idea in my mind when creating Ruggi: to transform our years of accumulated rug-making experience into designs that blend into today's life and allow people to express themselves freely.

Ruggi isn't here to tell you what to like, but to make space for what is yours. Because to me, the most beautiful state of a home is not when everything perfectly matches, but when it resembles the person living in it.

Same roots. Brand new spirit.

Our design language draws inspiration from the most powerful motifs of Anatolian kilims. Our emblem originates from the 'Hands on Hips' motif, which has symbolized strength, fertility, and protection for centuries.

We simplify centuries-old forms such as baklava, abundance, ram's horn, and water path, reinterpreting them with geometry and bringing them into today's rhythm.

These are not just patterns; they are the bond we establish between the past and the present, and the signature we leave on every Ruggi.
